The Detour 2 Death Blog Tour

Hey, there my fellow books lovers and book readers! I've got some exciting news and a special guest hopping over to PI. But, before I talk about that, I would like to say:

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

For those of you have dates/girlfriends/boyfriends/fiancees/husbands/wives/partners/aliens to spend your Valentine's Day with: You're so lucky! Naw, but really, enjoy. I hope your significant other has something super special cooked up for you and that you have a wonderful lovey-dovey holiday filled with tons of romance! For those who do not have a special someone to share in the joys of Valentine's Day: *pets bookshelf* Isn't that what we've got our super hot, totally fictionally man candy to read about?

And speaking of my fantabulous bookshelf, today I'm featuring a series that has graced both my bookshelf and my kindle with its presence... the EXTREME HAUNTINGS series by the warm, wonderful J. R. Turner!

If you haven't read this series, the books are a YA paranormal action romance series. (The romance has been hinted at, but I really want to see the good stuff, already!) It's creepy and intense, and if you're into the supernatural as far as ghosts and demons and angels and things of the otherworldly nature, you're definitely going to enjoy this series!

So, the first book in the series is called, DFF: Dead Friends Forever, in which the heroine Kaylee Hensler must help a ghost-girl murdered at least a century ago escape her killer even in the after-life. You can check out my Review: Dead Friends Forever, read a blurb about it on Goodreads, or purchase it at Amazon to see what all the buzz is about. The sequel, School's Out 4-ever, is set in a boarding school where Kaylee has been taken to versus serving in juvie for the aftermath that happened in book one. Barclay appears to be a normal, ordinary school though far from it; a place where students go missing and turn up suspiciously dead years later. Read my Review: School's Out 4-ever to see my feelings on it, go to Goodreads to find out more about it, or head off to Amazon to buy yourself a copy to accompany the first book you're thinking about placing an order for. *winks*

Trust me, I really don't think you want to miss out on this series!

Detour 2 Death by J.R. Turner
Release Date: February 15, 2011
Detour 2 Death back cover blurb- "There are worse things than death, but not at Marsden Memorial hospital.

Kaylee Hensler knows her best friend Davey is on the brink of death. She knows this because she’s a psychic. When she flees the girl’s reformatory to get to him, she has no idea the special sort of hell waiting for her.

Reapers are collectors and they come in many forms. In Feverland, the world created by Davey’s sickness, the red reaper goes by the name of Molok, an ancient evil with deep roots. In Shadowland, the dark side of the hospital, a black reaper promises torture and torment to lost souls. The white reaper is the most fearsome, giving Kaylee three days before he collects both her and Davey’s souls.

Kaylee has one secret weapon, one she doesn’t fully understand. Her abilities will be tested, her loyalty betrayed, and her love misplaced. No one escapes Death.
"

Sound exciting, right? I think so, and can't wait to get my hands on this book!

So, that's enough of me talking. And now it's time for the author herself.

Welcome, J. R. Turner!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I love all genres, but if you add a touch of the supernatural and romance to them, I’ll absolutely adore them. Horror is one of those genres that pairs well with both supernatural and romance so when my publisher approached me about writing a YA series, my choice was clear.

The Extreme Hauntings series began with an idea to create paranormal action around the theme of ghosts. Each book has a very evil entity. In the first book, DFF: Dead Friends Forever, the demon Asmodeus has trapped the souls of those involved in the murder of a young girl a hundred years ago. In the second book, School’s Out 4-Ever, the headmistress is really a demon in disguise, surviving on the souls of the wayward children sent by the courts to attend the reformatory.

In Detour 2 Death, Kaylee gets to experience a great deal of paranormal activity as she tries to save her blossoming love interest, Davey, her best friend and the boy next door. She travels into his coma world, Feverland, where she faces Molok, an entity associated with Death and the Grim Reaper. There’s a dark side to Marsden Memorial hospital and a black reaper lurks on that side of reality.

The angel Raphael plays an important role as well. He’s become more and more of a love interest, to the point where my editor has firmly become a member of Team Raphael (Asher: Heck yes! I totally am, too!) . I enjoyed writing him because he does love Kaylee very much, but she struggles with the massive age difference and her love for Davey.

Please feel free to visit my website—http://www.jennifer-turner.com for more information about the Extreme Hauntings series. Tomorrow we’ll be having a fabulous contest where the winner will get the first two books in the series and a book thong. The runners up will get a book thong each. Check back to see what fun we have in store for you!

Thank you so much, Asher, for having me here!
