In My Mailbox (10)

First off, hi there! Welcome to Paranormal Indulgence. You're just in time for In My Mailbox. Hooray! For those who are asking just what that is, allow me to explain. Basically what happens is every week a bunch of bloggers participate in this weekly meme hosted over at The Story Siren called In My Mailbox by creating a vlog where they talk about the books they got during the week (or you can just do a regular post about all the things you've got). And the cool thing is it isn't just limited to purchased books, it could be any books, like books from the library. And more, it doesn't even have to be books that you got. You can just talk about random things you bought or your findings of the week. It's a pretty neat meme, if you ask me. And with a bunch of us joining in on it, it's a great possibility that all of us will get to connect.

Of course, none of this would even be possible without Kristi @ The Story Siren, whose vlogs serve as a constant inspiration for me on a daily basis when book blogging.

Want to participate? Well, okay, just click this http://www.thestorysiren.com/ and you're all set. Scroll down and you'll see the In My Mailbox post of the week, with a vlog at its center and a Mr. Linky below, which you must sign. Please, please watch the vlog. They're always really good. And take a peek at her book shelf in the background while you're at it. It's so, so gorgeous. You'll see.

Anyway, enough chat-chit, time to share my findings...

Library Pick-Up

I've been desperate for this last installment in the trilogy since it's release! I was so sad when I didn't see that my local library had it. And since I moved into a new town, I didn't know the procedure for requesting books from other libraries. But, I called up the YA librarian she and she made sure to get it! Now, I have it! Yipee. I'm so excited. If you've never heard of the Wondrous Strange series, you're missing out on a wonderful set of books. This trilogy's paranormal focus is faeries. And Lesley's faeries are so much fun yet so dangerous as well as the cool fact that one of the gates into the Otherworld where the faeries reside is right in Central Park! You're probably like huh? how does that work? Well, pick up a copy of Wondrous Strange and find out! Trust me, you don't want to not read these books.

Book #1, Wondrous Strange, was a fun and exciting introduction to the series. See my feelings on it in my Review: Wondrous Strange, and you can check out my Review: Darklight, the sequel, which I LOVED so much more than Wondrous Strange! I'm hoping that I love this last book in the trilogy even more!

Raising the Dead by Mara Purnhagen (Free Purchase)

I've never read anything by Cynthia Leitich Smith, though I've heard her most recent release, Blessed, was wonderful as well as her other books. So, maybe that's an indication to pick up her books. Anyway, I picked Cat Calls up mainly because I wanted to test myself to see whether or not I like her writing style and so forth. Anyway, it's a short story apparently having to do with a girl named Tiffany and it's "set in the same dark universe as her novels Tantalize, Eternal, and Blessed." And Raising the Dead is part of the Past Midnight series, which I've never read. This is a 1.5 addition, meaning it's in between books one and two. I love the main girl's name--Charlotte Silver--and she seems to be apart of some paranormal investigators group called Silver Spirits. Sounds neat, right? I also picked up a ton of adult romance novels this week, but since there's so many, I'm too lazy to post them all up.

And that's all I've got this week for IMM. Please be sure to read my Review: Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton! Also, Paranormal Indulgence is being featured in a blog tour for Detour 2 Death by J. R. Turner on the 14th and 15th, so you might want to drop by to check that out! I've posted my Review: Dead Friends Forever by J. R. Turner and will be reading/reviewing the sequel, School's Out 4-ever, sometime today...

Thanks for reading! See you next week! And thanks for stopping by!

I have been meaning to begin the Wondrous Strange series for a while. I do have all three books sitting on my TBR stack. But I am just so far behind in my reading. Have a great reading week!

My IMMs are here and here. Both are heavy with review books this week.

That's a great collection! I love the cover for Tempestuous. A lot has been said recently about the Raising the Dead short story, I'll be interested to see what you think of it.

Cat Calls meanwhile sounds wonderful. I have Tantalize on my shelf but I haven't had time to tread it yet. Not so inspired by the cover though.
