Why We Shouldn't Go to University

So a week or so ago on Twitter (Twitter, of course, being the source of all life and knowledge), Asher and I were discussing something scary. Not spiders or clowns or dangerous sharp corners, but even scarier - the future.

You see, we're both starting uni (or college, to all you American peeps) next year (though for me, it depends on whether I get the grades or not - and as I'm typing this instead of a 3000 word English coursework essay due in two days, it's not looking good :P), and we both came to the conclusion that there is a high possibility that next year is when we'll turn into the Living Dead. And by that, I mean scary beings that work all day, blog all night and survive on four hours sleep. As this isn't a very appealing concept (I'd much rather read all day and watch anime), Asher got the idea that maybe not going to uni wouldn't be so bad after all. And voila, as a result of our mutual fear of what lies ahead (and longing to stay home and hide from it), we have come up with "Why We Shouldn't Go to Uni/College". The reasons consist of books that sound so good, they'd be worth forsaking education :P.

First of all...the title. How amazing is the title? I'm a little bit obsessed with it. It sounds like the name of a poem. And very cryptic and dark. I don't know, but I liiiike it. Plus, the cover is so pretty. Look how swirly the font goes on "Stars" <3. But judging the book actually based on its summary (as one always should, of course), it sounds fantabulous. Genetic experiment gone wrong? Awesome. Childhood friend with a secret? Excellent. Great sounding love story? Amazing. So yeah, definitely looking forward to this one ;).

I luuurved (yes, triple u, r, v) Hunting Lila by Sarah Alderson, so when I heard about Fated, I added it to my to-read shelf on Goodreads without a second thought. This book sounds immense. I mean, it's about this girl - who's a Demon slayer. Demon slayer. That is my kind of book, right there. And on top of that, Lucas, who I assume (read: desperately hope) is the love interest, apparently looks kinda like this guy. O_O. Gotta have this book.

Archer <3. Archer, Archer, Archer. One of my all time favourite bad boys? I think so. I NEED to know what happens next. Because after that cliffhanger ending in Demonglass, I think I may actually die if I don't get this book soon. Why is March so far away? Why has the UK cover not been released yet? What is up with Sophie's family? Why does Archer do the things he does? Why doesn't he just run off and elope with Sophie? So many questions, and no answers!

This one has a sort of "whoa what the hecky heckington!" vibe. A girl who's a lightning addict? Erm, can you say brilliant? I've never read anything like it! So intrigued as to why she loves lightning so much and what the consequences of her addiction are. Plus, this Jeremy guy who may be hiding a "more sinister truth"? Yeah, liking the sound of him. Minus the whole sinister part. Oh, who am I kidding. The sinister part is the most interesting ;).

Clockwork Princess

This one doesn't even have a cover yet, but I want it. SO MUCH. I know Clockwork Prince isn't officially out yet (it's amazing), but I'm already desperate for this book. Desperate. I could burst into tears and rant incessantly about how much I want this book. Will. Tessa. Jem. Tessa. Will. Jem. Tessa. Jem. Will. AHHHHH. It's making me crazy. I've officially branded this the "Love Triangle of Greatness". And I don't even usually like love triangles...

Tokyo Heist

The main character in this one (Violet) loves reading manga, and is ecstatic when her father's business means a trip to Japan. I can relate. I'm a huge manga/anime/Japan lover. Going to Japan would be a dream holiday for me! So definitely want to read this one. The art robbery/mystery aspect sounds interesting as well! Curious as to whether or not there's going to be a bit of romance in this one - doesn't sound like it, but I hope there is. I can live without it though - the book sounds awesome enough as it is :P.

Ahhh, I adore this series :). What can I say? I like books about teen spies! There's something about them that's always appealed to me. Plus, Cammie is such a great character. And Zach...is dreamy. I have a serious case of "oh my God that boy I want him" syndrome when it comes to Zachary Goode. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, just read the series. You will definitely understand :P. Hehe! And loving the UK cover! I love the US ones too - they're all amazing, actually!

Insurgent

fngjrhbhdbfbjr93ub. Words actually can't express how much I want to read this. Divergent is my favourite read of 2011, and I'm hoping Insurgent will be my favourite of 2012. I want to see Tris and Four again! They are such amazing characters, and the romance is so adorable and awesome, which is lovely since they're surrounded by such a violent and dangerous world. If you haven't read Divergent yet, GO READ IT NOW. And by now, I mean now. Open a new tab and buy it. Dig it out from your tbr pile. Just sit down and read it. It's amazing :).

There are many, many, many more books that I'm looking forward to. But I figured you'd prefer it if this post didn't go on forever :P.
