On the Hunt for a Crimson-hot read?

Well... I'm not 100% sure it's crimson hot, because, well, I haven't read it BUT makes for an excellent post title, am I right? I'm so clever.

So there's a really cool-looking book Xpresso Book Tours wants to help ya'll know about: Crimson Hunt by Victoria Smith. It came out late last year and is the start of a new New Adult paranormal series.
College junior Ariel Richmond is working on year three of Project Normalcy.

Her house reeks of keggers past and her bestie is just a slight bit vulgar. But the thing is—they both aid in making life refreshingly uneventful.

So much for hard-earned mediocrity when Luca Grinaldi appears on the scene.

Luca’s sudden presence on campus is hard to ignore. Those bright eyes act like a beacon to unsuspecting females, and with features like his, he’s got to be moonlighting for GQ. Luca hopelessly captivates Ariel with his confidence and charisma, but the mysteries surrounding him make him nearly untouchable. And just when Ariel grows close enough to unlock his secrets, a tragic event sends her life in a downward spiral.

That steady life is no longer an option and allies quickly become scarce. The mysterious Luca seems to be the only one willing to help her—but with that trust comes the burden of his secrets. He has a dark mission of otherworldly proportions, and is willing to sacrifice as many lives as it takes to see it completed.

Gone are the days of simply maintaining normalcy, and if Ariel isn’t cautious with her trust, so soon may be her future.
Sounds interesting, no? Here's a little excerpt to tease the senses:

“Do you want to watch a movie or something?” It seemed like the perfect way to snuggle up to him.
Luca’s expression warmed. “Sure.”
What we watched, I didn’t know. My hands moved on autopilot in his presence. After booting up the random selection, I sat down close to him. His rested arm brushed against my neck and my skin surged with activity. I wanted to push him again. It worked the last time.
I scooted in even closer and crossed my legs.
He glanced down at me, his smile still warm, and then returned his attention to the film.
So far, so good.
I crept under his arm and lay my head against his chest. I then, casually, swept my hand across his front. I settled my hand down on his stomach, and he breathed in deeply. His arm slowly slid around me, and every nerve in my body woke up.
I closed my eyes, feeling so warm there under his arm. The sound of his heartbeat worked its magic with its steady rhythms, and my mind went completely blank.
After a few moments, his hold on me tightened. His strong hand rubbed my shoulder and my heart hitched. Taking his new advance as a sign, I casually drifted my fingers along his cotton shirt. Those abs were definitely present. Until this moment, I’d only been able to speculate on what they felt like. Now, confirmed, the new information stirred my insides.
I continued the movement of my fingers, and the smooth beats of his heart jumped. They then suddenly steadied, like he could somehow stabilize the beats. God, you’re really losing it, Ariel. No one can stabilize their own heartbeat at will. I closed my eyes, dismissing my crazy thoughts.

Whoa. Beat steadying powers.
