I definitely DUG the way the relationships were more thoroughly explored BUT I loved the movie rendition because of the vision and the way the director & co. were able to make me FEEL ALL THE THINGS in so short a time and with a medium that has limitations like films do as opposed to novels. Maybe I'd feel differently if I'd read THE HOST first, but I had no desire to until AFTER this awesomecake movie, ya know?
But, dude, yeah, I so see where you're coming from.

I preferred the book :). The movie was okay, but...the character development was MUCH better in the novel.
