Something Lovely Under the Stamps [62] aka In My Mailbox, Stacking the Shelves, Book Haul, etc.

Hey, would you look at that? AUGUST is here. My birthday month. The month when City of Bones is due out in theatres. The month where all kinds of awesome releases will be taking place, including my beloved Crown of Midnight and The Bitter Kingdom. You'd think I would be excited, right? Well, I am. Mostly. But when the dawn of August 1st fell upon me, I realized I hadn't done a book haul for AN ENTIRE MONTH. And within that month, I discovered bargain bin shopping, among other things, and so I have four weeks of 50+ books to show you.

I swear I tried to make it as painlessly short as possible. BUT I am excited to show everything to you too. I know, I know, it's a double-edged sword I wield, and I think I do so with good grace. In case you haven't been around this past month, here are some things (or books rather) that you should know about:

Books Reviewed 6/26 - 7/29:

Normally, I'd love to write a list of all the books I got, but this time there are far, far too many to list. And, unfortunately for you, I am lazy.

*avoids eyes* So, yeah, erm... That's it. As of yesterday. Because there are more now. That have come. That I didn't mean to get. As of yesterday. I just said that. Repetition is a common symptom of guilt, did you know?

I'm sorry seems like an inappropriate response considering I'm not. Well, then, sorry to keep you here for fifteen minutes but really it had to be done. What did you get this week?

yay, 15 mins of YOU! :D

"Something about the ginger on the front" haha
Brotherhood sounds good!
Black Spring! Yay! :)
I hope Cinders & Sapphires is good!
I do not like Tera's mermaid books, I hope you like 'em more than me!
I have Don't Breathe a Word but haven't read it yet :)

Love your face at the end :P xox

15 mins I prayed wasn't 15 mins too long lol but, my God, I haven't had this many books to share since BEA, and this pile I think rivals that one :O Gingers are always enticing, something about the red-hair fascination that began with Little Mermaid. Pathetic, but nonetheless true. Black Spring looks really good, my friend. Cinders & Sapphires I don't have too many expectations for but I hope to love it. And, oh, boo you didn't like them! I hope I like Tera's series because it looks like my thing. Don't Breathe A Word looks delightfully dark and I can't wait to read it!!

That face was pure natural talent XDD

It's practically impossible not to babble when it comes to books that you're excited about! Don't worry, I get you and I have no problem with watching a 15 minute vlog by you!

I'm really curious about your Penguin books - Atlantis Rising and Man Made Boy. I hope they end up getting good reviews because they sound great!

"I'm going to be destitute, I'm going to be homeless one day, all I'm going to have to my name is books" <-- bahaha! TBH, that doesn't sound too bad as long as you have your books. But that was always my same fear about manga because I have an addictive personality and I love anime too... and I'm sure the manga reading could get out of hand really quickly.

Love your necklace!

I watched your whole video without any sound (my laptop is practically dead), but I hope I didn't miss anything important! YOU HAVE SHADOWS. I want that book so bad! I loved Robin McKinley's Blue Sword and actually plan to re-read it very soon. I also adore your necklace! And YAY. We share the same birth month. :)

You have so many incredible-looking books there! Atlantis Rising looks especially awesome. And I am psyched for Crown of Midnight later this month- think I'm going to have to pre-order. :D

I'm glad you're so understanding about it xD I was so proud when I managed to get it DOWN to fifteen because I'd actually spent an hour talking about all 50 + books and tirelessly working on editing it.

Yes, those two plus SHADOWS look really good and I can't wait to get to them.

My sister said I could make a house out of books, but I told her she was crazy if she thought I was going to expose them to rain, campfire, and/or theft, among other various scenarios fraught with danger. Let me tell you, Aylee, since I've bought them, there will be no going back.

And thank you <3 It does pay to work in retail xDD

That's dedication, my friend, and I feel completely honored by it. I'm hoping I'll like THIS McKinley book since I mentioned I was bored out of my mind by Pegasus. THANK YOU, the benefits of working in a nice clothing store. WHEN'S YOUR BIRTHDAY, WOMAN?!

And I have no idea how I intend to read them all. Really, I've set myself up for doom, so maybe jealousy isn't exactly the response you want to have when you think on how I won't be doing anything but reading for the next several months xDD

Thank you, m'dear! I can't wait to read all those suckers either.

Man, I can't wait for Atlantis! The dude wrote a Merlin series, of course I'm stoked! Duuuude, preorder Crown of Midnight asap because it's fabulous. ABSO-POSO.

I love how detailed you are in introducing these books. It definitely makes me excited about some of the titles and makes me want to check them out. =)

Nowhere but Home was really enjoyable. I didn't love it quite as much as you did, but I still loved the story and the characters. It had that quiet feel that I really adore in contemporaries.

Wow that's a lot of books! Didn't watch your vlog as I comment while watching TV but still 50+ books in a month is impressive. Hope your birthday month is just as amazing!

Some thoughts:
1. You are adorable.
2. You have the best eyebrows.
3. WHOA THAT IS A LOT OF BOOKS.
4. It is hard for me to keep up with you.
5. Queen of Kentucky is excellent.
6. I enjoyed this a ton.
Thanks for sharing! :) Hope all is well with you. xo

Sweet jeebus that is one EPIC haul. It may be the most epic of all the epics. Yeah, I think it is. Alright so I know I'm uber late to the party, but nice Summer weather seems to have a negative effect on my blogging and commenting. My bad :( Anyways, Atlantis Rising, The Darkest Minds, Hold Me Closer Necromancer AND that Women of the Otherworld series are ALL on my wishlist! I've only heard of the Crown Tower books recently myself but I was tripping out wanting to get my hands on them as soon as I did :D

I actually own a copy of Storm and I can't wait to have time to dive into the Elemental series, cause well: Elemental Magic is AWESOME!! Man Made Boy looks really promising, I can't wait to start reading some reviews. Oh and Blythwood I hadn't heard of before now but: Boarding School?! Paranormal!? Yeaahh I am SO in - yay, thanks for bringing that one to my attention XD

ps- Barney gif FTW ♥ Enjoy your goodies girl!

I am going to start read Of Beast and Beauty today and I am SUPER excited (especially after reading your glowing review!) And yay for manga! Have you read the Fruits Basket mangas? They're so cute! I just finished reading the first volume of Degenki Daisy and I really liked it. ^^
