The episode definitely led me down a rollercoaster of emotions. So much sadness and angst in this one. First, there's riddled-with-disease Rose, who endured a werewolf bite last I watched. Some background knowledge: A werewolf bite kills a vampire. And watching Rose suffer so, the audience got to see first hand just how exactly this happens. Rose had so much agonizing pain, then there was dementia and the rabidness, her insatiable blood lust which caused her to go out and kill three innocent people. Dealing with this, Rose realizes her mistake of never getting close to anyone, putting down roots, and so forth. Her loneliness truly hits her, as I suppose it would when one's on their deathbed. Watching Damon bear the hardship of losing a friend on account of his actions was not a happy sight. I'm a Damon fan, through and through. But, even if I wasn't, his sadness and guilt and pain would have still impacted me. Then, to see him to take on the responsibility to end her life to ease her suffering was deeply heartbreaking. I've found new reason to empathize with him.
Early on in the episode, Stefan disappears to track down Isobel, Elena's biological, now-a-vampire mother, to get more information on Elena's current situation as the doppelganger, the vampire/werewolf curse, the Originals, Elijah, and Klaus... He later shows up with Uncle John, Elena's biological father, who claims to want to assist the group with everything, including the recent werewolf infestation currently residing in Mystic Falls.
Then, there's the problem of Julie. I need to vent this: this is one nasty, psychotic werewolf bitch. Okay, venting complete. Julie, supposedly an old friend of Mason, is another werewolf coming from Florida to find out more about Tyler Lockwood, Mason's nephew. She instills doubts and unearths truths that he was unaware of and places the blame squarely on Caroline Forbes, the recently-turned-vampire daughter of the local sheriff. By the end of the episode, she manages to successfully bungle Tyler and Caroline's growing, sensitive friendship/relationship as is shown in the preview of the upcoming episode.
So much is going on with everybody, and it would seem to me that the next episode is definitely going to be on the crazy side. Can't wait!

Reasoning: I've been waiting a month for this episode, and in return I get this depressing episode! Rose's part in the episode was freakin' horribly sad. I cried, couldn't help it. Hopefully, the next episode, Daddy Issues, will be considerably better.
