Ooo, I'd know how I'd live with myself if either of my parents could listen in to what I was thinking. That's got to be pretty rough. I wonder how the title relates to what's actually happening in the story? Darwin's Children--interesting choice, and an intriguing one.

I'd surely work at puzzles and tasks for $12 million dollars, even in some strange tower with kids I've never met before. I'm more curious, though, about Ves's connection to the tower and how he came to find out about this competition.

Clarity by Kim Harrington 

I read and adored Ruby Red, a wonderful time-traveling/paranormal romance novel that follows Gwenyth Shepherd and Gideon de Villiers's story. You can read all about my thoughts by clicking here for my review. 

As for Clarity, I've heard so many things about it--some good, some bad--that I decided I wanted to see for myself. BUT, I didn't expect to get it this week. My mom actually surprised me with this one. It's like she surfs my brain waves sometimes--when she told me she had picked it out for me, I'd just ended a conversation about it with another blogger not five minutes before. Creeepy. Yet beneficial.

Trial by Fire by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

This is probably one of my favorite book weeks, and the stuff I borrowed is basically the reason. Trail by Fire I've been DYING, writhing in AGONY (on the inside, of course) because of the ending of Barnes's first book, Raised by Wolves. Is it just me or does it feel like the sequel took FOREVER to release? May Mermaids! In one of my My Big, Fat TBR Pile posts, I mentioned my recent and overwhelming obsession with mermaids, and I had to get a book to satisfy said obsession. Rewatching The Little Mermaid over and over has NOT been cutting it. BUT, I'm steaming because this is a sequel. (It kinda looks like a companion sequel, though, which isn't too bad. I'll just have to go back and read the first one.)  Darkness Becomes Her It's gotten to the point where I'm like, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL ABOUT THIS BOOK? I've seen so many reviews for this, good and bad, which doesn't even matter--you know what they say, there is no such thing as bad publicity--that I want to read it and see for myself what's going on with this. Haunting Violet I now (correctly and accurately) define myself--thanks to Michelle--as a blatant cover whore. I could not deny myself on this one. PLUS, I've always liked Harvey's books AND it's written in my fave time period (late Victorian era) so I had to read it. Welcome to Bordertown I can't even--I don't even--I cannot describe to you how excited I am about this book. But, I'm going to try. This is a collaboration of some of my fave authors writing about a FANTASTIC urban fantasy world. It sounds awesome!
