I'd also just like to note that Kristi's IMM vlogs are what inspired me to start my blog.
She made it look like so much fun! And now I know why.

Life can get pretty complicated for any seventeen-year-old girl, but for a home-schooled telepathic black girl trying to survive in a prestigious private school in small-town Jonesborough, Tennessee, it can be maddening – especially when her telepathic father keeps eavesdropping on her thoughts!

Jaycie Lerner’s family isn’t the usual mom-dad-kid setup...

Ooo, I'd know how I'd live with myself if either of my parents could listen in to what I was thinking. That's got to be pretty rough. I wonder how the title relates to what's actually happening in the story? Darwin's Children--interesting choice, and an intriguing one.

Ves Asirin wins a trip to the Tower of Parlen Min. There, with 19 other children, he competes in the Sword Challenge; a series of puzzles and tasks, for $12 million. As fantastic and glorious as the tower seems to be, Ves finds that it keeps a dark and secret history... (Finish reading at Goodreads)

I'd surely work at puzzles and tasks for $12 million dollars, even in some strange tower with kids I've never met before. I'm more curious, though, about Ves's connection to the tower and how he came to find out about this competition.

I read and adored Ruby Red, a wonderful time-traveling/paranormal romance novel that follows Gwenyth Shepherd and Gideon de Villiers's story. You can read all about my thoughts by clicking here for my review

As for Clarity, I've heard so many things about it--some good, some bad--that I decided I wanted to see for myself. BUT, I didn't expect to get it this week. My mom actually surprised me with this one. It's like she surfs my brain waves sometimes--when she told me she had picked it out for me, I'd just ended a conversation about it with another blogger not five minutes before. Creeepy. Yet beneficial.

I won!

Blog Tour

p150/320 (47%)

I'm participating in a blog tour for the sequel in Jana Oliver's amazing Demon Trappers series. The first one is called The Demon Trapper's Daughter, and you can find my review here.

Borrowed

This is probably one of my favorite book weeks, and the stuff I borrowed is basically the reason. Trail by Fire I've been DYING, writhing in AGONY (on the inside, of course) because of the ending of Barnes's first book, Raised by Wolves. Is it just me or does it feel like the sequel took FOREVER to release? May Mermaids! In one of my My Big, Fat TBR Pile posts, I mentioned my recent and overwhelming obsession with mermaids, and I had to get a book to satisfy said obsession. Rewatching The Little Mermaid over and over has NOT been cutting it. BUT, I'm steaming because this is a sequel. (It kinda looks like a companion sequel, though, which isn't too bad. I'll just have to go back and read the first one.)  Darkness Becomes Her It's gotten to the point where I'm like, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL ABOUT THIS BOOK? I've seen so many reviews for this, good and bad, which doesn't even matter--you know what they say, there is no such thing as bad publicity--that I want to read it and see for myself what's going on with this. Haunting Violet I now (correctly and accurately) define myself--thanks to Michelle--as a blatant cover whore. I could not deny myself on this one. PLUS, I've always liked Harvey's books AND it's written in my fave time period (late Victorian era) so I had to read it. Welcome to Bordertown I can't even--I don't even--I cannot describe to you how excited I am about this book. But, I'm going to try. This is a collaboration of some of my fave authors writing about a FANTASTIC urban fantasy world. It sounds awesome!

Lux - You won't regret once you do (get your hands on Ruby Red). The cover isn't the only gorgeous aspect of the book. And thanks, I can't wait to finish them all!

Rebecca- Thanks! And I just started Clarity yesterday. I'm hooked.

Under the Covers - You betcha. I was so excited to land so many bookmarks, since I'm always using pieces of paper to stuff in between the pages so that I can save my place. Now, I have pretty bookmarks to use. Thanks!

Liz R. - My thoughts exactly on Ditched. And I think every Iron Fey series fan is going to really enjoy The Iron Knight. Thanks, happy reading to you, too!

Kristin - Thanks! And I'm looking forward to seeing if Vanish is better than Firelight. I hope it is.

Logan E. Turner - Yes. I think everyone should buy Ruby Red, but I'm a bit bias here, as I loved it sooo much. But, the cover is so pretty when it's physically in your hands.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Oooh, I'm curious to see what you think of Clarity and The Revenant. You got a ton of books from Net gAlley! I've heard so many bad things about Tris and Izzie, so I can't wait to hear your thoughts.

Small Review- I can't wait to read both, ESPECIALLY Clarity--it just looks so good! And I did get a lot from NetGalley, almost more than I can handle. Perhaps I shouldn't have requested so many...? *lol* I read one page of Tris and Izzie and I'm already toying with DNFing it, so that says a lot.
