PiC: Pretty in Red (3)

Pretty in [COLOR] is a brief, random feature that showcases upcoming novels that I'M particularly excited for... It is quite possible that I could interpret what a certain color looks like differently than you, and to that I say: *shrugs* Oh, well, it can't be helped.

This week's PiC theme is red.

  • Forever (Wolves of Mercy Falls #3) by Maggie Stiefvater (Scholastic Press|July 12, 2011): I love this trilogy to pieces! Sam and Grace are one of my all time favorite couples. If you haven't read this trilogy, the first book is called Shiver and the second is called Linger. You so have to read it! Even if you're not a big fan of the paranormal aspect, don't worry it comes second to the monumental love and connection between the main couple. I'm telling you that you cannot go wrong with the Wolves of Mercy Falls Trilogy, you can't! Shut up, and just read it!

  • Sirensong (Faeriewalker #3) by Jenna Black (St. Martin's Griffin|July 5, 2011): My mother just recently informed me that she's gifting me with the first two books in this series/trilogy (?), which are Glimmerglass and Shadowspell, and that I should expect their arrival next week. Mind you, I said nothing of my wanting to read these books. Her reasoning for purchasing these for me was this: "It sounded so good! And I think you're going to love the guys, especially the bad guy. Hey, when you're done, let me read 'em, okay?" xD! Love you, Mom.

  • Blood Magic by Tessa Gratton (Random House|May 27 2011): Ooo...blood magic. If that doesn't sound creepy, then clearly I don't know what is. When I read the summary for this one, the words that came to mind were: dark, sinister, and frightening. I hope it is like this. I'm always looking for an edgy book that gives me a little thrill while I'm reading. Note: This is also a debut novel, in case any 2011 Debut Author Challenge participants are reading.
  • Rage (Horsemen of the Apocalypse #2) by Jackie Morse Kessler (Harcourt Graphia|April 4, 2011): I don't know if I mentioned this, but, uh, I'm a HUGE Hunger series fan! I fell in love with the first novel in this series, Hunger, about a girl named Lisabeth who becomes Famine of the Four Horsemen. More than actually loving the story itself (which was phenomenal, I might add), I utterly adored Death, aka the Pale Rider. He's so freakin' cool! Anyway, I'm desperately awaiting Rage's release so I can read/review it already (thanks NetGalley!).

  • Entangled by Cat Clarke (Quercus|January 6, 2011): "A story of dark secrets, intense friendship, and electrifying attraction." My thoughts have been plagued by this novel. I'm dying to see if I'll indeed enjoy this one like I have a feeling I would. It sounds so remarkable and kind of sad with the hopes of ending wonderfully. Can't wait to track this one down, that's for sure!
  • Crusade by Linda Press Wulf (Bloomsberry|January 3, 2011): Crusade sounds like another bittersweet tale. One I can tell will make me emotional at some point. And the time period seems neat to read about. Funny thing, I just realized I haven't read any reviews for this one yet. I wonder what others thought of it...?

Ooh, this is a cool and unique feature! :) I love all the pretty covers!

I'm looking forward to all of these books as well! Some of them I still need to read the prequels too. :D

I haven't read Hunger yet and I've heard some mixed things but just about everyone seems to agree that Death is a fabulous character! I've really got to read it and see for myself, but good to know you recommend it :)
